Meet the Bolder Venture Partners Team
Born in Toronto, Canada, Daryl studied computer science and business at York University and Western University. In 1985 he relocated to England with his wife of 36 years and his 3 boys before moving to Boulder, Colorado in 1987. He has 35 years of early stage growth experience from both financing and operations perspectives. He is a founding member of Destron Technologies (1984), the Opus Capital Fund (1992), Bolder Venture Partners (1997), Cannect Comunications (1998), ID Watchdog Corp. (2005), and VetWerx (2011). He has also supported senior management and strategic development teams at a dozen successful companies, where he spearheaded fundraising, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic licensing agreements. Today he serves as CEO of Veracity Credit Corp.
Daryl is a pioneer in Canadian capital markets and cross-border transactions for non-resource companies, and is credited with developing the “NASDAQ Two-step,” a process for raising Canadian public venture capital for companies and then migrating them to the NASDAQ market. He has raised more than $350M for start-ups during this time.
In addition to supporting a number of client businesses, Justin has direct executive experience with three BVP portfolio companies. His expertise includes consumer service startups in the personal information and credit space, having founded and built Veracity Credit Consultants and ID Watchdog where his primary areas of responsibility were the development of marketing strategies and fundraising.
Justin built ID Watchdog’s affiliate program, driving as many as 3,000 online enrollments per day. As the Company’s president, he was instrumental in the successful completion of the public offering in September 2008, which represented the only completed IPO in North America during the 3rd quarter of that year.
Justin is currently the CEO of veterinary hospital startup VetweRx. The company opened its first unit in Denver in 2013, will open its second unit in Washington DC in April 2014, and plans an aggressive expansion of its footprint over the next 5 years.
Justin today also serves as the marketing advisor to Veracity Credit Corp., a company he founded in 2003 that has provided credit consulting to over 100,000 US consumers.
In aggregate, Justin has raised $30M USD in debt and equity for the startups in which he has been involved. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University and dual MBAs through Columbia Business School and the Haas School of Business (University of California – Berkeley). Currently he lives in Virginia with his wife, Megan; their daughter Lilly; and the family dog, Beatrice.
Dennis joined BVP portfolio company ID Watchdog as Chief Financial Officer in April 2007. He has over 30 years of accounting experience, including as chief financial officer and controller, in a variety of industries. Prior to joining the Company, from June 2001 to March 2007, he was an independent financial consultant to several public companies in the United States and provided SEC reporting, financial reporting and other accounting services. From June 2000 to May 2001, Dennis was Vice President Corporate Controller of New Global Telecom, Inc. Prior to 2000, he held several financial executive positions with companies primarily in the telecommunication sector, including a Vice President, Controller position at Brooks Fiber from 1995 to 1998. Dennis is a Certified Public Accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting from Texas Tech University.
Today Dennis is the CFO of VetweRx and Veracity Credit Corp.
